I attended early school years in Hugoton, Kansas, then went to Abilene Christian University in Texas and graduated with a degree in Bible. After graduation, I married Mallory Smith and we moved to Lubbock, TX. He attended Texas Tech and I worked for a bank for three years.
Mallory then attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. From there we moved to Kansas City where our son, Steve, was born in 1963. After a year there, it was on to language school in Monterey, California, where we enjoyed the beach for a year.
For the next two years, it was the San Francisco area where our daughter, Lori, was born in 1965. Then we sailed to Honolulu and enjoyed more beaches for three years. After deciding stateside schools would be better for the kids, Mallory transferred to the FBI headquarters in Washington, DC. We lived in nearby Springfield, Virginia, for the next four years and enjoyed all the historical sites of the area.
In 1975, we moved to Phoenix. Later Mallory and I parted ways and I became immersed in a demanding career as a Realtor. With the exception of a few years when I was sidetracked with a securities license and worked in Financial Services, I have remained married to Real Estate for 30 years.
Though not a typical grandmother (I still don't cook), I have three grandchildren that are smart and wonderful. Lori's husband Tom has a successful civil engineering firm, but is also a very dedicated husband and father. Steve travels with Special Events Productions in setting up and scoring major Golf Tournaments. Lori and Steve both live close so I'm truly blessed.
Life has been good...I have enjoyed seeing 51 states (haven't made it to Alaska yet), but my favorite thing is to travel with my sister, Lavon. She loves England so we have made several trips together through the years and had great experiences touring gardens, traveling the countryside, seeing the shows and touring London, hiking in Wales, and taking the Chunnel to Paris.
